Accessibility

Multistory is committed to providing a website that will give all users of varying abilities and technology as rich an experience as possible. To achieve this, our website is coded to W3C standards and aims to comply with Priority 2 of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Detailed below are what steps we have taken to accommodate the needs of our users.

Navigation

A key feature of this site is that a user who is unable to use a mouse can easily navigate using the keyboard or screen readers.

There is a sensible tab order so that a user can tab through the site in a logical order.

Navigation code is available that will always allow users to jump directly to the content. This means that for people using screen readers or text readers, for example, the navigation can be skipped on every page you visit.

A list of the main content areas of our website is listed in an easy to navigate Site Map.

Additional features of this site

Scalable text - all copy can be increased in size, either using the text resizing icons in the top right corner of the home page or by holding down the ctrl key and + (to enlarge text) or ctrl and – to reduce text size.

Any document you can download from our website has a link telling you how big it is and what kind it is. To view PDFs, you will need a PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is available free from the Adobe website.

The HTML we produce conforms to the HTML5 standard.

Flash animation and JavaScript will never be used for critical information.

Headers always use the correct header structure so a user will know where in the site they are at any time, and crucially, will know how to move to another part of the site.

Browser compatibility

This website has been tested to offer full functionality on Windows and Macintosh, on screen sizes ranging from 1024px to 1600px in width, and on the following browsers:

Internet Explorer 6.0 and 7.0 and 8.0

Firefox

Safari

Opera

Chrome
