Take a Walk With Me

By Elaine Speight - 1st June, 2011

As a result of my Longhouse Action research Bursary I have been awarded further funding from Arts Council England and the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

West Bromwich Walks is an art and research project, which will explore West Bromwich town centre's "sense of place" from the point of view of people who live, work and spend time there.

Between Tuesday 21st and Saturday 25th June, artist Elaine Speight is looking for people to take her on walks through West Bromwich town centre. This could be your journey to the shops, a quick office-break in town, or a stroll around your favourite places.

The walks will be used as research for a multi-media tour of the town centre, which will be created over the summer. Click here to arrange a walk.

If you would like to get involved without walking, Elaine is also collecting photographs, memories and stories about the town centre and how it is changing. Visit the blog to contribute your own stories or opinions about the town centre, or e-mail mail@westbromwalks.com for more information about the project.
