What makes you happy?

Is there a special person, place, activity or memory that makes you smile?

Whatever it is, we want to hear about it. We are trying to find out what makes the people of the black country happy for our virtual map to show that the black country is a great place to live, work and visit.

Project Overview:

Multistory has been working with seven groups across the Black Country from May to September 2009 to create a 'happiness' map of the Black Country. During a series of workshops the participants were given the opportunity to decorate a cardboard house (about the size of a child's Wendy house) with their stories and ideas of the different things that made them happy and what happiness means to them. Using printed text, paint, transferring photos and other visual media each of the groups has produced several 'Happiness Houses' which will be exhibited across the Black Country as a 'happiness estate'.

The first exhibition will take place at
The Public, New Street, West Bromwich, B70 6PG from 20 October 2009 - 27 November 2009

Multistory are inviting all residents in the Black Country to contribute to the happiness map through this website and through a text campaign so that we can map what makes different parts of the Black Country happy.
