Project Overview:
Longhouse is an annual programme of work, funded through Arts Council England, West Midlands, which provides professional development opportunities for artists working in the public realm; connecting artists, communities and regeneration professionals.

The programme provides a number of different opportunities and contexts for artists to undertake professional development. These include action research bursaries; short residency programmes; and one-off forum and seminar events. Longhouse works with a number of different partners to deliver its programme to connect with a range of artists at different points in their career; to reach a diverse audience’ and ensure that we can make a real impact and support change to take place in the areas we work.

As part of Multistory’s arts programme as a whole, Longhouse is able to create clear links for local artists between their own development and Multistory’s project work, introduce new ways of working to our partners as well as developing best practice for artists working within regeneration and community contexts.
