Project Overview:
Parents and toddlers from Cannock Chase Children’s Centre had a spring in their step unearthing the wonderful opportunities available to them on their doorstep. Multistory, working in partnership with Cannock Chase Council’s Arts Development Team, developed ‘The Good Life’ initiative using creative and responsible approaches to raising the profile of Cannock Chase’s Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) as a local ‘health’ resource. Using old and new techniques of interactive play between parent and child, Multistory ran a series of workshops with mums and toddlers from Cannock Chase Children’s Centre encouraging a healthy and creative lifestyle.

The project enabled a health promotion opportunity to parents and children, for example healthy eating at Shugborough Park Farm, the benefits of play by visiting the Toy Gallery at the Museum of Cannock Chase and the importance of physical activity at Birches Valley and The Good Life Project has now been incorporated into South Staffordshire’s early years practice.

Together with Cannock Chase Council’s Art Development team, and in partnership with South Staffordshire Primary Care Trust and Cannock Chase Children’s Centre, Multistory have created an informative resource book for parents and toddlers highlighting the benefits of creative play and the amazing natural resources on their doorstep.
