Project Overview:
In 2006, the Tibbington estate in Tipton, Sandwell was granted funding through Government Office’s Safer Stronger Communities Fund (neighbourhood element). This funding was used to establish five strands of activity in the area to support families to access education and learning to raise aspirations and levels of employment.
Multistory worked in collaboration with film maker Paul McIntosh to document the five strands: Family Workers; The Base; Schools Learning Mentors; Youth Interventions; and Joblink in order to provide a creative evaluation of their work and evidence the changes in aspiration of the families on the estate.
The final creative evaluation was delivered as a film, with interviews from the staff involved in the delivery of these strands of activity and the residents who were directly affected by them. The film demonstrates quite clearly how these activities have changed the aspirations of the local people and impacted on the perception of the area in general.
